CHOCOLATE MOUSSE
Servings
Ingredients
- 3 cups chilled half and half
- 1 pkg Instant vanilla pudding
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips or chunks
- 1 pt whipping cream
- Lady fingers or pound cake
- Grand Marnier, Cointreau, Cassis would be a great idea for the pound cake
Special Equipment
- An instant-read thermometer
Technique
- Follow directions on package of pudding. Let set in Fridge for 5-10 minutes.
- Melt chocolate in a double boiler or a metal bowl set over a pan of simmering water, stirring frequently
- Whip whipping cream till stiff stage
- Fold chocolate into pudding until smooth, then fold in half of the whipped, whipping cream
- To prepare glasses/ramekins slice pound cake very thinly and line glass
- Drizzle chocolate sauce or liqueur over and spoon mousse into glasses or ramekins and chill, covered, at least 6 hours
- Let stand at room temperature about 20 minutes before serving
- Garnish with lightly sweetened whipped cream
